Data Deletion Request
Your Right to Delete Your Data
At Zazu Power, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We are committed to respecting your privacy and will process your deletion request promptly.
How to Delete Your Data
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the Zazu Power app
- Go to Settings → Account
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
- Your account and data will be permanently deleted within 24 hours
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to hi@zazupower.com with:
- Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
- Your registered email or phone number
- Your username (if you remember it)
- Reason for deletion (optional)
We will respond within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 7 business days.
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request deletion, we will permanently remove:
- Your account information (username, email, phone number)
- Profile data (bio, avatar, preferences)
- Your marketplace listings (unless they have active inquiries)
- Saved locations and preferences
- Notification settings and tokens
- Your favorites and saved searches
- Private messages and inquiries
What Data May Be Retained
For legal, security, and operational reasons, we may retain:
- Community Reports: Anonymized power status reports (made public, no link to your identity)
- Transaction Records: For tax and legal compliance (6 years)
- Security Logs: For fraud prevention (90 days)
- Backup Systems: May take up to 90 days to fully purge from backups
- Aggregated Analytics: Anonymized usage statistics
Account Deactivation vs. Deletion
Deactivation (Temporary)
If you're not sure about permanent deletion, you can deactivate your account:
- Your profile becomes hidden
- You can reactivate later
- Your data is preserved
Deletion (Permanent)
Once deleted, you cannot:
- Recover your account
- Access past listings or inquiries
- Retrieve saved locations or preferences
- Undo the deletion
After Deletion
Once your data is deleted:
- You'll receive a confirmation email (if email was provided)
- You can create a new account anytime with the same email/phone
- Your previous data will not be recovered
- Any active marketplace listings will be removed
Special Cases
Active Marketplace Transactions
If you have active inquiries or pending transactions, we may delay deletion for 30 days to allow completion. We'll notify you and the other parties.
Legal Holds
If your account is subject to a legal investigation or court order, we cannot delete your data until the matter is resolved.
Business Accounts
Business accounts with transaction history may be subject to longer retention periods due to tax and accounting requirements.
Data Portability
Before deleting, you can request a copy of your data:
- Email hi@zazupower.com with subject "Data Export Request"
- We'll provide a downloadable file within 48 hours
- Format: JSON or CSV
- Includes all your data we have on file
Third-Party Data
We'll delete data stored on our servers. For data shared with third parties (analytics, push notifications), we'll notify them to delete your data as well, but cannot guarantee immediate deletion from their systems.
